diskette error
About this tag
The diskette error tag on WindowsForum.com covers user discussions about the 'diskette 0 failed' or similar floppy drive-related error messages that appear during system boot. These errors often occur on older Windows PCs, such as those running Vista, and may indicate a failing hard drive or incorrect boot priority settings. Users report that the error can lead to a black screen with a mouse pointer after the loading phase, preventing normal or safe mode operation. Troubleshooting steps mentioned include checking boot order in BIOS, testing the drive in another computer, and attempting to create a disk image before total failure. The tag is relevant for vintage hardware and legacy Windows troubleshooting.
