About this tag
The dm controls tag on WindowsForum.com collects discussion of direct-message privacy settings, particularly for Discord on Windows. The tagged thread walks through Discord's privacy checklist, noting that profile privacy, DM blocking, activity visibility, and app access are separate controls rather than one switch. It covers working through these options in the Windows desktop app or a browser, with notes on how menu names and locations can differ across platforms. For Windows users who want to limit who can message them or reduce what linked apps and activity status reveal, this tag gathers practical guidance on finding and applying those settings.
