docker cloud sandboxes

Docker Cloud Sandboxes is a Docker service, launched at WeAreDevelopers on September 24, 2026, that runs AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Copilot inside hosted microVMs. Billing is by the second from $0.07 an hour, and developers can move an agent's work between a laptop and Docker-managed compute with a single command. The launch includes a revised Kit specification that expresses an agent's network, credential and volume permissions as an ordinary OCI image. Docker's stated argument is that a container packages an application, while an agent needs a boundary below the kernel it probes, so sandboxes let agents run for hours.
