document link
About this tag
The document link tag covers issues where Windows Explorer favorites, libraries, and user folder shortcuts become invisible or inaccessible. A common scenario involves a user finding that their favorites, libraries, and the My Documents link have vanished from the Explorer navigation pane, often after another user has used the computer. When attempting to recreate a favorite, the system reports that the favorite already exists and appends a duplicate number. This tag is relevant for troubleshooting hidden or broken shell folder links in Windows 7 and similar versions, focusing on restoring default navigation pane items and resolving duplicate link creation errors.
