drive deletion
About this tag
Discussions tagged with 'drive deletion' on WindowsForum.com focus on the challenges of formatting or deleting a drive partition, particularly when multiple Windows installations exist on separate drives. Users often encounter issues where the boot manager or system files reside on a different drive than the active OS, preventing deletion. Common scenarios include removing an older Windows version (e.g., Vista or 8) after upgrading to Windows 7 on another drive, and needing to safely format the old drive without breaking the boot process. Solutions involve using tools like EasyBCD to manage boot entries and ensuring the correct drive is set as active before deletion.
