About this tag
Discussions about drive names on WindowsForum.com cover renaming USB sticks, assigning drive letters, and inconsistencies between Windows Explorer and Disk Management. Users report issues such as USB stick names reverting to uppercase, inability to assign a specific drive letter (e.g., D) due to partition layout, erratic recognition of external USB hard drives, and permission errors when renaming drives. Troubleshooting topics include using Disk Management to change drive letters and resolving administrative privilege issues.
