duplicate entries
About this tag
The duplicate entries tag on WindowsForum.com covers issues where users see multiple listings for the same item in Windows interfaces. Common examples include USB drives appearing twice in File Explorer—once at the root level and again under This PC—and duplicate program entries in the default apps list, often after malware cleanup. Users also report duplicate album entries in Windows Media Centre, where metadata mismatches cause the same album to appear multiple times. Discussions focus on troubleshooting these display duplicates, removing unwanted entries, and restoring a clean, single listing for drives, programs, or media libraries in Windows 10 and earlier versions.
