duplicate windows

About this tag
The tag 'duplicate windows' on WindowsForum.com covers issues where users experience unintended opening of duplicate windows or tabs while typing. A common scenario involves a Dell laptop running Windows 7, where pressing certain keys triggers actions like opening history, new tabs, or printers, rather than typing the intended letter. This behavior suggests a keyboard shortcut conflict or a stuck modifier key, such as the Windows key or Ctrl key, causing keystrokes to be interpreted as system commands. Discussions focus on troubleshooting these input-related problems, including checking for stuck keys, disabling sticky keys, or updating keyboard drivers. The tag is relevant for users encountering similar unwanted window duplication during normal typing.
