About this tag
Discussions tagged with 'duplication' on WindowsForum.com cover issues where files, folders, or Start Menu entries appear in multiple locations unexpectedly. Users report duplicate Start Menu entries across All Users, Profile, and ProgramData folders, as well as entire Documents folders ending up in the Recycle Bin while still appearing on the desktop. These duplication problems can waste disk space and cause confusion about which copy is authoritative. Troubleshooting often involves understanding Windows folder structures, checking for accidental copies or symlinks, and safely removing redundant items without data loss. The tag focuses on practical solutions for managing unwanted duplicates in Windows file systems.
