education licensing

The education licensing tag on WindowsForum.com follows Microsoft's changes to Microsoft 365 Education plans and what they mean for school IT departments. Current coverage centers on the rebuilt education portfolio announced for 2026, including a no-cost student tier, a new top A7 tier, added security tools for faculty, a revised storage counting model, and a Microsoft Classroom learning app. It also tracks retirements that affect long-standing arrangements, such as Office 365 A1, the Student Use Benefit program, and free Exchange Online for alumni. Discussion is aimed at administrators and IT staff who need to review entitlements, budgets, and migration timing before existing free tiers end.
