About this tag
The HP EliteBook 8440p is a business laptop that uses a specific power adapter. In discussions on WindowsForum, users ask whether a Dell Vostro charger can power an EliteBook 8440p. The EliteBook 8440p accepts multiple voltage and amperage combinations, including 18.5V at 3.5A, 19V at 4.74A, and 19.5V at 3.33A. A Dell charger outputting 19.5V at 4.62A falls within these specs, but compatibility also depends on connector type and polarity. The thread explores whether such cross-brand charging is safe and effective, highlighting the importance of matching voltage and sufficient amperage for the EliteBook 8440p.
I've got two laptops - A Dell Vostro 3330 (something like that) and a HP Elitebook 8440p.
I've only got one charger - the one with the Dell Laptop. This gives 19.5V (DC) with 4.62A on the 12V rails.
The HP Elitebook can use either: 18.5V;3.5A//19V;4.74A//19.5V;3.33A
Does this mean I can use...
