erratic connectivity

About this tag
On WindowsForum.com, the tag 'erratic connectivity' covers discussions about Wi-Fi and network connections that intermittently drop or fail to connect. Users report issues where a Windows 10 machine on a home LAN works fine most of the time but occasionally boots with no connection, despite other devices on the same network functioning perfectly. Troubleshooting steps like toggling DNS settings (auto vs. fixed), disabling IPv6, or swapping USB adapters and ports may temporarily resolve the problem, but it often recurs. The Windows troubleshooter sometimes misidentifies the issue, such as reporting an Ethernet cable problem when troubleshooting Wi-Fi. These threads focus on persistent, unpredictable network behavior rather than permanent failures.
