error 0xc0000022

About this tag
Error 0xc0000022 is a Windows system error that appears in various contexts, including System Restore failures and Event Tracing sessions. On Windows 7, users have reported this error when System Restore ends with 'unspecified error 0xc0000022' despite running SFC, disk checks, and resetting Volume Shadow Copy services. The error also occurs in Kernel-Event Tracing, stopping sessions like UBPM (Unified Background Process Manager) and Eventlog-Security, often after hardware changes such as replacing a failing data drive. In some cases, error 0xc0000022 accompanies system instability like screen freezing and cursor issues. Troubleshooting steps include checking disk health, repairing system files, and reviewing event logs for underlying causes.
