error 41
About this tag
Error 41, also known as Kernel-Power 41, is a critical Windows event that appears in Event Viewer when a system shuts down unexpectedly or loses power. On WindowsForum.com, users frequently report error 41 in the context of crashes during sleep or hibernate transitions, often on laptops. Common symptoms include a black screen, unresponsive keyboard, and the need to force a power-off. Discussions focus on troubleshooting steps such as analyzing minidump files, checking power settings, updating drivers, and investigating hardware issues like failing batteries or power supplies. The error is not tied to a specific Windows version, with reports spanning Windows 7 and later. Understanding error 41 is key to diagnosing unexpected shutdowns and preventing data loss.

I've had the issue since 06/2012
