error 720

About this tag
Error 720 is a Windows dial-up networking error that occurs when attempting to establish a remote access connection, typically to an ISP. The error message indicates a problem with the network settings, often related to the Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) configuration. Common causes include corrupted or missing network protocol files, incorrect TCP/IP settings, or issues with the Remote Access Connection Manager service. Troubleshooting steps may involve resetting the TCP/IP stack, reinstalling network adapters, or checking the PPP settings. This error is specific to dial-up connections and is less common with modern broadband connections.
