error 80070002
About this tag
Error 80070002 is a common Windows Update error that appears across Windows 7, Windows 11, and other versions. On this forum, users report the error when running Windows Update, often alongside other codes like 8024402F or 8024A000. Troubleshooting attempts include running the readiness tool, stopping and restarting Windows Update services, using the fix-it tool, automatic troubleshooter, and applying KB947821. In Windows 11, the error can also occur with Script Host when modifying registry keys for keyboard shortcuts, possibly due to security software like Bitdefender. The error typically indicates missing or corrupted update files, but standard Microsoft fixes do not always resolve it, leading users to seek alternative solutions.
