About this tag
The tag error scan on WindowsForum.com covers discussions about scanning hard drives and storage devices for errors, particularly using tools like HD Tune. Common topics include running full surface scans to check HDD health, interpreting error scan results, and dealing with reallocated sectors. Users also troubleshoot error messages during scanning, such as when HP Scan stops working or when Windows prompts to scan external USB drives. The tag includes threads about diskpart not detecting drives in recovery environments and methods to clear Glist/Plist in firmware. While primarily focused on storage diagnostics, the tag also touches on printer scanning errors and driver conflicts that produce error messages.
