fake shop detection

This tag collects WindowsForum.com coverage of fake-shop detection, the practice of identifying fraudulent online storefronts before shoppers hand over payment details. The tagged discussion centers on AV-Comparatives' 2026 Fake-Shop Detection Certification, which evaluated consumer security suites on Windows 11 ahead of Black Friday and the holiday shopping season. Seven products earned certification, including Avast Premium Security, Bitdefender Total Security, F-Secure Internet Security, Kaspersky Premium, and NordVPN's next-gen antivirus. The thread also notes that the test was vendor-run and therefore comes with caveats, making it useful for Windows users weighing browser and security-suite protection while shopping online.
