fiber internet slow speeds

About this tag
Fiber internet slow speeds can be frustrating, especially when only certain Windows PCs are affected while others on the same network achieve full speeds. In a recent discussion, a user with 250/250 fiber service reported that some Windows PCs consistently get only 127 Mbps down and 180 Mbps up, even when directly connected to the modem. Troubleshooting steps included bypassing switches and routers, disabling network adapters, and testing in Safe Mode with Networking. Interestingly, Safe Mode temporarily resolved the issue on one PC, suggesting a software or driver conflict. Common causes may include misconfigured network settings, outdated drivers, or third-party software interference. For persistent fiber internet slow speeds on Windows, checking driver updates, resetting TCP/IP stack, and performing a clean boot can help isolate the problem.
