About this tag
File Scavenger is a data recovery tool discussed on WindowsForum.com for retrieving files from damaged or RAW drives. In one case, a user with a RAW external hard drive on Windows 7 used File Scavenger 3.2 to recover JPEGs but had partial success with video clips. Another user attempted File Scavenger to recover a BitLocker-encrypted USB drive that became inaccessible after an accidental disconnection during decryption. These threads highlight File Scavenger's use in recovering data from RAW disks and encrypted drives, though results can vary depending on the file type and drive condition.
