filecopyoptimization
About this tag
The filecopyoptimization tag covers discussions about improving the speed and reliability of file transfers on Windows. Topics include using tools like FastCopy to bypass Windows Explorer's limitations, such as long stalls and single-file lockups during large transfers. Users also discuss the ability to run multiple copy operations simultaneously, a feature some feel has been degraded in recent Windows versions. The tag focuses on practical solutions for bulk file migrations, backups, and media projects where default copy behavior is insufficient.
FastCopy is a small, focused utility that quietly solves one of Windows’ most maddening problems: unreliable, slow bulk file transfers that drag down productivity and risk silent failures on large backups and migrations.

Is it just me, or have Microsoft removed their brilliant feature of copying two sets of files at once? I copy a big set of files. It's taking ages. I tell it to copy another set. The first set pauses! Why? I want the quickest to end first, so something is achieved earlier!
