files companion app

The files companion app tag on WindowsForum.com covers discussion of Microsoft's companion app for Windows and its connection to Copilot Chat. The tagged thread reports that Microsoft cancelled roadmap item 558595, which had promised Copilot prompts in the Files companion app for Copilot Chat users, and added a correction noting the item was no longer accurate. The discussion also notes that the app itself is heading toward retirement, so the cancelled feature is tied to a product being wound down. Coverage here focuses on roadmap status changes, Microsoft 365 feature cancellations, and what they mean for users who relied on the Files app integration.
