first time use
About this tag
The tag 'first time use' on WindowsForum.com covers issues where Windows 7 repeatedly displays a 'preparing for first time use' screen on every boot, often after a hard drive replacement or after running executable files in the C:\Windows\System32\oobe folder. Users report that the system works normally after the screen completes, but the recurring message is inconvenient. Discussions focus on troubleshooting methods to stop this loop, such as undoing changes to the OOBE folder or resetting the first-time setup state. The content is specific to Windows 7 and does not extend to other Windows versions or general setup topics.
The HDD in my laptop failed and i got a new one, I had to install Windows 7 again obviously and whenever i start the computer i'm greeted with "Windows is preparing for first time use" When it boots into windows 7 it then brings up a window that is only supposed to come up the first time you use...
I was playing around in the C:\Windows\System32\oobe folder and ran the exe files located there. Now everytime i boot i get setup is preparing your computer for first use. is there anyway to prevent this?
Hi all,
I have Windows 7 installed on my computer. For some reason I keep getting the "setup is preparing your computer for first time use" on every boot. Everything works fine. No data is lost it's just the message. windows works fine after that
How can I stop it?
