flashing folder
About this tag
The flashing folder tag on WindowsForum.com covers issues related to the gray folder icon with a question mark that appears on Mac hardware when Windows fails to boot. This symptom typically indicates that the system cannot locate a bootable drive or partition. Discussions focus on troubleshooting Windows installations on Macs via Boot Camp, including scenarios where Windows 7 requires a DVD to boot despite being installed on a separate partition. Common solutions involve repairing the Master Boot Record, adjusting Boot Camp settings, or ensuring the Windows partition is properly recognized by the Mac's firmware. The tag is relevant for users experiencing boot failures on Macs running Windows through Boot Camp.
Hi all.
I have a Win 7 Ultimate running off boot camp on an intel 13" Macbook.
When I choose the operating system at started (holding down alt), the Win 7 partition wont boot. It reports not being able to find the drive (the flashing gray folder with the question mark appears)
