About this tag
Discussions on WindowsForum.com about font substitutes focus on registry modifications to change or restore system fonts, particularly Segoe UI. Users share registry scripts to disable or replace fonts, often encountering issues with font substitution not applying correctly after Windows updates or game installations. Common troubleshooting involves editing the FontSubstitutes key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion to restore default font mappings. Topics include font smoothing, interface font problems, and applying font changes across multiple machines. The tag covers registry-based font substitution techniques for Windows 7 and 10.
