About this tag
A fresh copy of Windows refers to a clean installation of the operating system, typically performed to resolve persistent issues like malware infections, system instability, or to start with a clean slate. In the WindowsForum.com discussions, users seek advice on obtaining a fresh copy to fix a virus-infected Windows 8.1 machine, troubleshoot frequent reboots on Windows 7, and understand whether a quick format during Windows 7 setup fully erases the drive. Common themes include preparing backups, using installation media, and ensuring the installation process properly wipes the previous system. These threads highlight practical steps and considerations for performing a fresh Windows installation to address performance or security problems.
