fubar

About this tag
The tag fubar is used on WindowsForum.com for threads describing severely broken Windows systems, often resulting from failed dual-boot attempts or partition errors. In one example, a user attempted to install Ubuntu alongside Windows 8, but during the process deleted the MBR and NTFS partition, leaving only Ubuntu. The computer still boots Ubuntu but with critically low disk space. The thread seeks help to restore a functional Windows installation, such as installing a legal Windows 7 from an unused disk. Discussions under fubar typically involve recovery of boot records, partition repair, and steps to reinstall Windows after a major configuration mistake.
