geforce 6600
About this tag
The GeForce 6600 is a graphics card from NVIDIA's 6-series, referenced in discussions about older PC builds and driver troubleshooting. In one thread, a user lists an EVGA GeForce 6600 GTX as part of a custom Windows 10 PC experiencing cursor display issues. Another thread involves a Windows 7 Media Center setup where the GeForce 6600 is implied as the GPU, with sound playback problems during video recording. These posts highlight the card's use in legacy systems for media playback and general computing, often requiring driver updates to resolve compatibility or performance issues. The GeForce 6600 appears in contexts of upgrading from Windows XP or maintaining older hardware for specific tasks like TV recording.
Hi,
I get this square instead of a vertical line for a cursor when I type anywhere, i.e word, emails, notepad etc.
Google help said press the "ins" key but, nothing happens on my PC.

I recently upgraded to Windows 7 to get the Media Centre for recording TV. I used to use MediaPortal on Windows XP but the scheduled recording was unreliable.
The recording in MCE is great but when I watch back the sound soon starts to degrade and become what I can only describe as "bubbly"...
