About this tag
The hall.dll file is frequently associated with Windows Stop 0x124 (WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR) blue screen errors, particularly during gaming or idle periods. Discussions on WindowsForum.com report that hall.dll-related BSODs often occur with overclocked CPUs or specific games like Final Fantasy XIV, while other games run without issues. Users note that the error can be random, sometimes appearing after hours of stable use. Troubleshooting steps mentioned include checking CPU overclock stability, updating drivers, and analyzing crash dumps with tools like BlueScreenView. The hall.dll driver is a core Windows component, and these errors typically point to hardware or driver issues rather than the file itself being corrupted.
