hidden drives
About this tag
Hidden drives in Windows refer to partitions or volumes that are not displayed in File Explorer or are otherwise concealed from normal view. Users may want to hide drives for security reasons, such as protecting backup drives from malware, or to prevent accidental modifications to system partitions. Methods include using Device Manager to identify hardware IDs, employing third-party tools like Removedrive and RestartSrDev by Uwe Sieber, or adjusting folder options like 'Hide empty drives.' Discussions cover hiding drives from specific users, accessing hidden partitions, and troubleshooting drives that remain visible despite settings.

Why?
How can I disable otherwise empty drives in WinExplorer?
