About this tag
The hyphen tag on WindowsForum.com covers user questions about handling hyphens in file names, folder names, and text display within Windows. Discussions include batch renaming folders to replace the first hyphen with an equals sign while preserving other hyphens, issues with Notepad in Windows 7 displaying Arabic dates containing hyphens differently than Windows XP, and problems applying themepacks when the file name includes hyphens with spaces. These threads highlight practical troubleshooting scenarios where hyphens affect Windows file operations and text rendering, with users seeking scripting solutions or configuration changes to achieve desired behavior.
