idle timer
About this tag
The idle timer tag on WindowsForum.com covers discussions about network drive performance degradation over time, particularly in Windows 7 Pro environments. Users report that mapped network drive transfer speeds drop after a period of inactivity, requiring a logoff and login to restore full speed. The issue affects file loading, including image sequences, and is distinct from complete connection drops. Topics explore potential causes related to idle timer settings, network configuration, and server-client interactions. Troubleshooting advice focuses on adjusting power management, network adapter settings, and group policies to prevent speed drops during idle periods.

At first al is wel and file loading is as fast as to be expected. But after some time the transfer speed drops dramaticaly and it becomes very slow. I tested it primaraly with loading of image sequences, but it affects all file loading...
