About this tag
Discussions about image opening in Windows often involve issues with the built-in Windows Photo Viewer. Common problems include the viewer hanging on 'loading...' or causing explorer.exe to crash when closing, particularly after opening images from the desktop. These issues have been reported on Windows 7 systems, sometimes linked to ATI Radeon video cards. Troubleshooting steps attempted by users include system file checker scans, driver updates, clean boot via msconfig, and repair installations, though solutions are not always straightforward. The tag covers user experiences and troubleshooting related to opening image files with default Windows tools.
