inconsistent functionality

About this tag
The tag inconsistent functionality on WindowsForum.com covers issues where hardware or software components work intermittently rather than reliably. A recurring example involves USB ports that sometimes provide power and detect devices, but other times fail entirely. Users report that after reinstalling Windows, the problem may persist, and external drives may work only sporadically. Discussions focus on troubleshooting intermittent failures, identifying whether the cause is driver-related, hardware damage, or power delivery issues. The tag is relevant for Windows 7 and other versions where devices or features exhibit unpredictable behavior, requiring diagnostic steps to isolate the root cause.
