independent processes
About this tag
Discussions tagged with 'independent processes' on WindowsForum.com focus on how modern applications, particularly web browsers like Chrome, use separate processes for tabs and extensions. Users observe multiple entries in Task Manager and question whether this design is efficient or indicates a problem. The tag covers topics such as process isolation, system resource management, and the impact on Task Manager visibility. Community members explain that independent processes prevent a single tab crash from taking down the entire browser, though they acknowledge the trade-off of a longer process list. The tag is relevant for users curious about Windows task management and application architecture.
Do you notice a lot of Chrome entries in your task manager?
I have 7 of them. I read they run independently so they will not interfere with each other but if all companies did this, the task manager would be enormous. Is this, in your opinion, as it should be or do I have an issue?
