About this tag
The kb955759 tag on WindowsForum.com covers discussions about a specific Windows XP update that was automatically installed on April 27, 2014, after Microsoft had officially ended support for XP. Users reported receiving this update unexpectedly, leading to questions about whether Microsoft had reversed its policy due to a critical Internet Explorer security issue. The tag is relevant for those troubleshooting unexpected updates on legacy Windows XP systems, particularly in the context of post-support security patches. Conversations focus on update logs, forced install timers, and the implications of receiving updates after the end-of-life date.
Hello,
Our understanding no more updates to XP, however we received a automatic update on 4/27/14. See below log. Did MS change their minds because of the MS IE security issue today?
Thanks,
Technut
