About this tag
The layer app tag on WindowsForum.com covers discussion of Layer, a free third-party application that places widgets directly on the Windows 11 desktop rather than in Microsoft's built-in Widgets Board flyout. Tagged content examines how Layer differs from the native widgets experience, which features it offers, and where its claims remain unverified. Coverage also touches on practical limits and privacy considerations for users considering a desktop widget tool. Because the available material centers on a single review, this tag is best treated as a narrow reference point for Windows 11 desktop customization and widget alternatives rather than a broad topic area.
