OMG so I saw the box and ignored it. Then I decided to give them a try. I love it, how useful to have all your stuff groups together over various folders and network drives eh!
I'm so liking w7 :)
Hi all,
Is it possible to share a file or directory between 2+ libraries?
There are at least three scenarios for which I can see this being highly useful --
1) Flagging files/folders for backup, possibly in quite disparate places. I realise that you can do this from the Backup applet but...
I add desktop toolbar to my taskbar. and in this toollbar appear some shortcuts which I have not on my desktop ( Libraries,Control panel, homegroup and others) but the problem is that I have 2 control panels!!!!!!!!!!
Even if I delete one of them it appears again.
could anybody give some advice...
Hi all.
The library concept is a great idea in theory -- and if you only have one non networked computer then this post does not apply.
The idea is (finally for a Windows OS) of course to organise data by CONTENT rather than worry about the Physical location of it. A typical example these...

Hey, you know how when you install Windows 7, there are default items on the taskbar?
Well, the libraries button has disappeared, and I cannot get it back. If i right-click on libraries, the pin to taskbar option does not exist, and if I right click on a shortcut, the option still does not show...
Hello !

Hey guys.
Is there a way to turn off the use of libraries? I really can't see the functionality of this, and I often end up getting annoyed because I can't see the point.
In the start bar when i click Pictures/Music/Whatever I'd like it to go directly to that folder and not the library of that...
Okay, I have windows 7 for a couple of days and can't seen to sort this problem, say im running 3 Windows explorer programs (Music, Pictures and Libraries for example), when i go to chose a different program and the thumb nails pop up, Windows Explorer crashes, making it impossible to change...

For some reason my Libraries have all disappeared. When I click my computer, libraries is selected by default, but the window is blank. If I click new library, I get this error:

Access is denied.
If I right click on Libraries and select...
Hi guys!
Is there any way to adjust the Explorer's start folder? Right now it's the Libraries, but I'd rather have the Favorites.
Maybe there's some sort of registry key for this?
BTW: I'm starting the Explorer from the SuperBar or by pressing WIN+E.
I accidentally dragged my recycle bin and a libraries folder to my start menu and there is no option to delete or un pin it. How do I get them off my start menu?
When I am browsing in windows explorer, navigating through folders by opening them in the main view, the treeview does not reflect this. That is to say, I'll make it to my windows fonts folder and the treeview will still be displaying my hard drives as if I had never gone anywhere. EDIT: Ok i...

In Vista, it was possible to change the location of My Documents, My Music etc. by adjusting the properties of those special folders, and pointing them to an alternate location. I could change the location of My Music by selecting the Location tab under Properties, and define a new folder.

Hi All,
Since the Libraries function is able to be pinned onto the taskbar, I was wondering if anyone has managed to pin the my computer link onto it.
So what I mean is, you could click an icon on the taskbar and it would launch my comptuer where you would then be able to view your harddrives...
Windows 7 is the first Microsoft OS that I have used where the standard [Windows key + E] shortcut doesn't open up the standard [My Computer] screen, with the drives listed. Instead, it defaults to the new libraries screen. Its not the end of the world, but it is an annoyance to have to click...
Hello friends. I'm new here. But I gotta say the forum looks fantastic. Looks like there is quite a few helpful people here as well. So, so far, I really like Windows 7. I think it's fast, pretty, and all in all, well done. I have very few problems so far. And this is the only one I...
Hi,
I would like to add a share from my NAS to a Windows 7 library, specifally the picture library. My NAS runs a set of mirrored drives where I store pictures, documents etc.. Stuff I really don't want to lose.
Anyway, when I try and add a share from the NAS to the library I am told it can...
before i start, let me say that i have never used Vista. in fact, i have never even seen a computer running Vista. i love my XP. it's old enough and stable enough that it can be hacked and customized to a very great extent, and i have it set up to look and work exactly how i want it to. the main...
