About this tag
Discussions tagged with license options cover choices for Windows Server editions and legacy Windows versions. One thread asks about current Windows Server license options for a home server running 2012 Essentials R2, with plans to upgrade hardware and OS while supporting media storage and client backups. Another thread explores license options for Windows 7 Ultimate and an unused Vista license when building a new PC and passing an old system to family, including whether a Vista-to-W7 upgrade can be applied without a full reinstall. These conversations reflect practical decisions about licensing for personal and home server use.
