lifespan
About this tag
Discussions tagged with lifespan on WindowsForum.com cover the longevity of computer hardware components such as NVMe SSDs, hard drives, IPS monitors, and laptop batteries. Users ask about partitioning effects on NVMe speed and lifespan, whether failing Surface Pro 3 batteries can be reconditioned, how long IPS monitors last compared to TN panels, and how to check battery runtime in Windows. Best practices for maintaining SSD longevity are also shared, including moving browser caches to reduce writes. These threads reflect common concerns about hardware durability and performance over time.
Hi guys,
Does partitioning an NVME with extra D:\ partition cause loss of speed and life span?
On google the answers were not straight to the point.
I am worried mostly about loss of speed! Someone mentioned the D: partition will be in essence a virtual drive, thus the loss of speed.
Can you...
Good afternoon. I have a S. Korean/LG 27" IPS monitor (1440p). I read that TN panels generally last upwards of two years if left on all the time. My monitor is also on almost all the time, so I wondered how long an IPS monitor would last? Do they last longer, the same, or worse?
I would like to check how long i have been unplugged from the power.
To test my battery and how long it lasts.
Is there somewhere in windows I can find how long I've been unplugged?
Thanks!
I was interested to find out how people are looking after their SSD drive. For example, do you just move your browsers cache to another drive, or move as many writes off it as you can, or do you just do nothing?
Are you concerned about the number of writes to your SSD and how long it will last...
