liquid damage
About this tag
Liquid damage on a laptop can affect internal components such as the motherboard while leaving the SSD intact. In cases of liquid damage, the motherboard may need repair or replacement, and other parts could also be damaged. Users concerned about recovering their Windows environment, including open tabs, programs, and temporary files, may need to consider options like repairing the existing laptop or transferring the SSD to a new device to minimize adjustment. This tag covers discussions about diagnosing liquid damage, salvaging data, and deciding between repair or replacement for affected laptops.
Hello,
I have an Acer Predator Helios 300 laptop that's suffered fluid damage that I've gotten diagnosed. The SSD is okay, but the motherboard needs to be repaired or replaced, and some other parts may also be damaged. IIRC, Windows is built in to the computer.
Thankfully, I can easily afford...
