About this tag
Discussions on WindowsForum.com about mandatory updates and parameters cover Windows 10 and 8.1 update policies, where certain updates like KB2919355 or Windows 8.1 Update 1 are required for future security patches. Users express concerns about forced upgrades, such as the 1903 feature update, and the lack of consent for automatic updates. In PowerShell, a mandatory parameter is one that must be supplied when calling a command, as opposed to optional or switch parameters. The tag also appears in the context of third-party software, like an AVG update that caused system failures on 64-bit Windows 7 PCs.
