About this tag
Discussions tagged with master-slave on WindowsForum.com primarily cover hard drive configuration in older systems, where one drive is set as master and another as slave using IDE cables or BIOS settings. Users seek help with boot order issues, Windows 7 not recognizing SATA drives when IDE drives are configured as master/slave, and confusion over which drive Windows 7 treats as master during installation. One thread also extends the term to file synchronization, where a user wants one-way sync from a master archive to a slave without reverse changes. These posts reflect legacy hardware setups and troubleshooting for dual-boot or multi-drive configurations.
