About this tag
The tag media accelerator refers to Intel's Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) series of integrated graphics solutions, commonly found in older laptops and desktops. Discussions on WindowsForum.com focus on enabling Windows Aero on systems with Intel GMA 900, such as the Vaio VGN-FS315E, where proper WDDM/LDDM drivers are needed. Users also troubleshoot Windows Experience Index (WEI) problems on systems like those with the GM 965 chipset, emphasizing the need to install Intel's official media accelerator drivers rather than relying on Microsoft's pre-configured ones. These threads highlight driver compatibility issues and solutions for achieving full graphics performance and visual effects on Windows 7 and later builds.
