mfpmp.exe
About this tag
mfpmp.exe, the Media Foundation Protected Pipeline process, is a Windows component introduced in Vista and present in Windows 7 that runs alongside Windows Media Player. Users report it can cause audio glitches, such as a pop or pause at 20 seconds before the end of a song in Windows Media Player 12. Some find it blocks external subtitles or interferes with online TV playback, and it may consume system resources. In Windows 7, mfpmp.exe may not always appear in Task Manager when playing certain media files, unlike in Vista. Workarounds include renaming the executable, but no official fix is provided by Microsoft.
