About this tag
The tag 'minimal bash' on WindowsForum.com covers troubleshooting the GRUB minimal BASH-like line editing prompt, a common issue when a computer fails to boot. Discussions involve using commands like 'ls' to identify drives and partitions, then manually booting into an operating system or repairing the bootloader. While the tag is Linux-focused, it appears in a Windows forum context where users dual-boot or recover systems. Topics include black screen errors, boot failure, and partition detection.
Hi there, my computer won’t turn on and I’d appreciate some help. My computer will not turn on outside of a black screen with “minimal BASH-like line editing supported.”
I am not very technical, but I did as follows (per a YouTube video):
grub> ls
(hd0) (hd0,gpt4) (hd0,gpt3) (hd0,gpt2)...
bash
