missing task
About this tag
The 'missing task' tag on WindowsForum.com covers issues where expected tasks or features are absent in Windows. Common topics include the Search task missing from Task Manager, causing a greyed-out search bar in Windows Explorer, and scheduled tasks not appearing in Task Scheduler on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 workstations despite Group Policy configuration. Additionally, discussions address unexpected behavior where Task Scheduler runs a missed task even when the 'Run task as soon as possible after a scheduled start is missed' option is not selected, affecting Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. These threads provide troubleshooting steps and solutions for restoring missing tasks and correcting scheduler behavior.
