About this tag
The tag 'mobile website' on WindowsForum.com covers discussions about browsers incorrectly redirecting users to mobile versions of websites. Topics include Internet Explorer 8 and IE in Windows 7 Beta redirecting to mobile sites like Walmart and NBC, while other browsers work normally. Also covered is Microsoft Edge's work on web interoperability and standards to ensure sites render correctly across browsers, which relates to preventing unwanted mobile redirects. The content focuses on browser behavior and web standards rather than mobile website design or development.

Ok now this has been happening for a awhile when i try to go onto certian website the most prominent being walmarts website i get taken to there mobile website is anyone else having this problem and is there a workaround thanks
I'm using the Windows 7 Beta, and the version of IE that comes with it. NBC.com keeps redirecting me to m.NBC.com, which I assume is the mobile version of their site. This does not happen in Firefox. Is there some setting that would make websites think I'm using a mobile phone?
