About this tag
Discussions about mountmgr.sys on WindowsForum.com focus on BSOD errors, particularly BAD_POOL_HEADER, and system hangs caused by this Windows Mount Manager driver. Users report crashes when the system is idle, often linked to third-party software that interacts with Mount Manager. A Microsoft hotfix (KB2614892) addresses a deadlock issue in mountmgr.sys on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. Troubleshooting steps include analyzing dump files with tools like BlueScreenView and applying the relevant update.
