mouse wake

About this tag
The mouse wake tag covers issues where a mouse or keyboard input causes a Windows PC to turn on unexpectedly. In a recent thread, a user with an ASRock H97M Pro4 motherboard running Windows 10 reported that their computer powers on from a complete shutdown whenever they press a key or move the mouse, despite disabling wake-on-device settings in both Windows and BIOS. This tag is relevant for troubleshooting unwanted wake events, particularly when standard fixes like disabling fast startup and unchecking 'Allow this device to wake the computer' in Device Manager fail. Common themes include BIOS configuration, power management settings, and peripheral interference.
